Regional Relays
Regional Relays are entered by the Warragul Little Athletics Club as a team event in various age groups (U9 and above).
To be eligible to enter the Region Relay Carnival, athletes must be registered and be a financial Little Athletics Victoria Competitive Member by the closing date and time for entries. This is the only Championship where boys and girls can run against each other in a mixed gender team. Athletes carry a baton which they pass onto the next member of their team.
Regional Relays are typically run at large venues in metropolitan Melbourne and top athletic teams within each age group progress to competing at state level.
Regional relays is run as a one or two day event, often split between age groups. Entrants are advised of the date and time of their race within a couple of weeks of the event. Event dates are set by Little Athletics Victoria.
Usually, parents or carers of participating athletes are expected by the event organisers to assist with the running of events by volunteering. This is organised by the athletics club that the athlete is a member of.
