Track & Field Championships

Regional Track and Field Championships

To be eligible to enter the Regional Track & Field Carnivals, athletes must be registered and be a financial Little Athletics Victoria Competitive Member by the closing date and time for entries. They also must have competed in a minimum of 4 weeks of Centre approved competition by the close of entries

Regional Track and Field Championships are typically run at a venue within the region competing (i.e. Gippsland Region is held at a Gippsland athletics venue – in recent years this has been at Berwick). The event is run over two days, with event schedules being released and confirmed within a couple of weeks of the event date.  Athletic events may be run at any time over the two days and change according to the events chosen by the athletes.  Up to four events may be selected. There is a cost associated with registering and this is paid for by the athlete. Competing in Regional Track and Field Championships is not covered in season registration fees.

Usually, parents or carers of participating athletes are expected by the event organisers to assist with the running of events by volunteering. This is organised by the athletics club that the athlete is a member of.

Top athletes in competing events progress to competition in the State Track and Field Championships.
